Accommodation

みなさんこんにちは！　Hello everyone!

先々週イギリスでの住む所が決まり、入居し、生活用品を揃え、少しずつ生活が落ち着いてきたかな、という感じです。
Found accommodation two weeks ago and feel the life here gets settled down.

今日はイギリスの住居についてお話したいと思います。私はシェアハウスに住んでいます。シェアハウスとは、大きな家に個室がたくさんあり、一人一部屋を借り、台所・トイレ・シャワーをみんなで共有します。
Today I am writing about accommodation. I live in a sharing flat. One has many rooms and you rent one of rooms and share a kitchen, loo and shower with other residents.

私のシェアハウスには８つの個室があります。シェアハウスですが、En suite（エンスート）というタイプで、シャワー・お手洗いが自分の部屋に付いています。つまりキッチンのみを共有しています。
My sharing flat has 8 rooms. It is En suite so each room has own loo and shower so we share only kitchen.

ここを選んだ理由としては、とってもキレイだから（私が最初の住人！なのでまだフラットメイトは誰もいません）、大学農場行のバス停が近いこと、大学から少し離れているので比較的安いこと（￡375＝約６万円／月）、住宅街にあるのでとっても静か、などです。
The reasons I chose here are it is very neat (I am the first resident so have not got any flat mate yet), close to the bus stop to Nafferton, little far from the uni so cheaper (￡375) and on residential area so very quiet.

最初はフラットやスタジオと呼ばれる、一部屋にキッチンからお手洗い・シャワーまで全てついている、日本のアパートのような所に住もうと思っていましたが、とても高いこと（￡450~600＝約７～１０万円かそれ以上）と、自分で契約して光熱費を払う必要があるため、シェアハウスに住むことにしました。シェアハウスは家賃にインターネット・電気・ガス・水道料金が含まれています。
I was thinking of living in a flat or studio which has everything in a room like a Japanese apartment however it is quite expensive (￡450-600 or more) and need to make contracts by yourself for internet, gas, electricity and water service so decided to live in a sharing flat. It has included all bills.

これだけではなく他にも大学寮やホームステイ、シェアルーム（1部屋を2人（あるいは数人）で共有する）、などもあります。
There are also student domitory, home stay or room share and so forth.

ナファートンの人に「新居はどう？」と聞かれた際に「とってもキレイでいいよ！だけど新しくて私が最初の住居人だからキッチン用品を全部買わないといけなくて、まだバタバタしてる。」と話したところ、その人が職員の人全員にそのことをメールしてくれ、使わないものを集めてくれました。またレイファート教授は、「今から家に連れてってあげるから、欲しいもの取ってっていいよ！」と私の必要なものを貸し出してくれました。またナファートンの電子レンジが悪くなりつつあると言うこともあり、新しい電子レンジを購入し貸し出してくれ、半年後に交換するということになりました。
When Teresa who works at Nafferton asked me 'How is my accommodation?', I said 'It is very good but I am first redident so there is no kitchen things' so she emailed to all Nafferton workers and collected many kitchen things for me!! She also bought a microwave to lend me out for six months. Carlo took me his home to get things I needed.

みなさん本当に優しく接してくれ、明るく楽しい研究所なので、毎日楽しんでいます。
